About Alpha Kappa Chapter-at-Large
The Chapter Welcomes You as a member. The Alpha Kappa Chapter-at-Large members are nurse leaders in the community and nursing students from University of Colorado College of Nursing, Anschutz Medical Campus and Regis University, Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions Loretta Heights School of Nursing, Colorado Christian University School of Nursing and Health Sciences (member since 2013), and Metropolitan State School of Nursing (member since 2014).

The Alpha Kappa Chapter-at-Large enjoys a distinguished history.  Ours was the 1st at-Large Chapter within Sigma. In June 2016 the Chapter celebrated it's 50th Anniversary with a 50th Jubilee Event and Dinner. It was a wonderful evening during which we enjoyed acknowledging our past leaders, our heritage, and our future.

Many nurse leaders and nurse students from the surrounding Denver-Metro area health systems enjoy the honor of Sigma membership.

  • Regional Virtual Conference May 28, 2020 and Call for Abstracts

I hope everyone is well during this very difficult time and staying safe. We are in the process of planning a Regional Virtual Conference with Regions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Many of us have had conferences canceled due to the Covid 19 virus, and we know this is disappointing to many of you. Some of you had presentations ready to go, and others were just ready to attend for the connections, education and CEU's you could earn. The Regional Coordinators in the West have come together, and we are trying to quickly put a program  together that we hope will meet some of these needs.

The date for the virtual conference will be on, 5/28/2020  from 4-6 Pacific time, 5-7 Mountain Time, 6-8 Central time or 7-9 Eastern Time. The Sigma President Dr. Rickard Ricciardi and Regional Council Chair Carole Liske will give our introduction Our. keynote speaker is Dr Gail Van Kanesan who will speak about the "Gateway to Joy". You will then be able to choose from 1 of 6 break out rooms for topics which might be of interest for you. We are working to get CEU's for this event.

If any of you have something you might be interested in presenting please send me a short abstract to Karen Maxwell by April 14th at either na3rc@stti.org or kmaxwell@regis.edu  I will  have more information out to you soon.
